Die Gastrednerin dieses Jahr ist die Literaturwissenschaftlerin und Mode-Expertin Prof. Dr. Barbara Vinken von der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

Gewinner*innen 2019:

Gabriel A. Maher (Winner Category Evolution) brings research and design together in performance situations to question design and media practices through queer and feminist frameworks.

The Australian designer is currently living and working in the Netherlands. With a background in Interior Architecture and Social Design, their* investigations confront a range of intersectional concerns, which frame concepts of gender, white privilege, class privilege and sexuality from a design and also a power perspective. - Maher is also mentor and guest lecturer at the Design Academy Eindhoven and The Royal Academy of the Arts in The Hague.

Maher provides a significant contribution to raising awareness of and publicising gender-sensitive design. With the iphi 2019, the jury recognises Maher’s multi-disciplinary projects: an outstanding example of comprehensive and wide-ranging work in gender design

*The designer identifies as queer & non-binary and uses pronouns: They/Them/Theirs*

Dr. Seba Ali (Winner Category Revolution) is the founder of the IMAGINE workshop and concert series at the Lebanese American University (LAU) in Beirut. The multi-disciplinary event addresses issues such as gender equality and human rights. In addition to music, dance and theatre performances by forgotten artists, the first queer fashion show in Lebanon was staged at the campus.

The event series has kicked off a courageous and open dialogue on art, design and gender, thus providing a significant contribution to the public and academic discourse, as well as to promoting acceptance of diversity.
