Cartoon Violence are one of the fastest rising talents on the current UK ska scene. Hailing from the wilds of Mid Wales, their line up features former 3 Minute Warning keyboardist/vocalist Chuzz & former Smoke Like A Fish guitarist/vocalist Tran.
The Cartoon Violence sound is an insanely catchy affair that mixes super bouncy 2 tone ska with distinctly British sounding pop & indie stylings. Their songs capture the classic Brit Pop storytelling vibe of the likes of The Kinks, Madness, Squeeze, The Hotknives & Parklife-era Blur, with each tune lyrically being like a mini kitchen sink drama in its own right! Endless soaring energy, great sing-a-long choruses & wonderful piano melodies are all hallmarks of the band's unique ska sound.
Cartoon Violence's superb debut album "Whatever Happened To The Likely Lad?" was released in 2008 on cult UK ska label Do The Dog Music & received great reviews & airplay on ska radio shows across the globe. Since its release the band have toured extensively around the UK sharing stages with the likes of Toots & The Maytals, Roddy Radiation & The Toasters along the way.

An essence of ska, early reggae, and rocksteady, Jamaica-based contemporary music is impressively minimalistic featuring cool arrangements, charged with a pinch of punky reggae and old-school samples, and modern loops that round it out.

JOHNNY REGGAE RUB FOUNDATION is the only one-man-band-trio in the world! It is centred around Johnny Ska, the trio's singer and guitarist who at the same time provides the groove on them Rudie Drums. Rolo Teng and his deep reggae bass plus Chrissy Reggae and her tight organ offbeat complement his groove and turn the one-man show into the tightest ska band in the world! Sampler, harp and Chrissy Reggae's and Johnny Ska's perfectly balanced fresh vocals - that's going down well!

In its first 7" vinyl single JOHNNY REGGAE RUB FOUNDATION pays tribute to the Ska classic, who inspired the band's name, and shows how its urban ska is firmly set in the here and now with the subtly groovy original composition 'Threesome'.

Then followed the bands second 7" single 'Coolit Down', developed in cooperation with Victor Rice, the God of Dub from New York, which not only shows the band's relaxed attitude but is an outstanding record, too, featuring a cool dub version on its flip side.

JOHNNY REGGAE RUB FOUNDATION has great plans for 2015. In addition to preparing a punky reggae inspired EP featuring four exclusive punk classics in its very own JRRF style, JRRF is also working on its very first studio album featuring original compositions only.

The bands distinctive sound and unique format is not only a huge success in clubs and pubs but works really well at festivals like Westend Ska in Dortmund or Freedom Sounds in Cologne, too. JRRF has already had the major honour of supporting the forefathers of ska, The Skatalites. Numerous performances with great bands like Babylove & The Van Dangos, The Toasters, El Bosso, or Two Tone Club have sharpened the band's live performance.
